I loveeeee taking pictures. I feel I always have, even from a young age.
From my disposable camera to my DSLR or even a quick snap on my phone. I find it amazing capturing moments and then looking back and remembering how you felt, what you could see and hear at that time. It's all about capturing a memory.
I have had my DSLR camera for two years, but I have only really started to seriously use my camera since lockdown (April/May 2020). I used my time in lockdown to study a Photography Diploma. The skills I learnt gave me confidence to progress into a professional career and start Yasmin Thomas Photography.
I absolutely love the outdoors, I am always looking for new locations to shoot, along with adventures to capture. Landscape photography will always be my favourite.
Recently however, I have had the opportunity to team up with some small local businesses and take photographs for their social media, The exposure of working with businesses helped me to use different skills / settings to capture subjects, such as food, Something I was not familiar with, pushing me out of my comfort zone. Which I really enjoyed and cannot wait to continue to do.
I am now focusing on portrait/ family shoots. I love capturing the small moments, and including people who may normally be behind the camera.
